Education Workshop has been in operation for over 30 years. Founded and run by George Humphrey and Brendan Guildea, authors of New Concise Project Maths school text books. They run revision seminars throughout Ireland for Junior Certificate and Leaving Certificate Higher Level Maths students. Brendan & George are household names for Mathematics.
George Humphrey is one of Ireland’s foremost practising maths teacher and maths textbook authors.
He is the leading author of the maths textbook series ‘ New Concise Project Maths’ (publishers Gill & MacMillan). His revision books in the ‘Less Stress More Success’ range (publishers Gill & MacMillan) have proven to be hugely popular and effective aids for students preparing for maths exams at all levels.
George is a very active member of the 'Irish Maths Teachers Association' since 1982 and for 3 years he was chairman of the Dublin Branch.
George also lectures each week in the School of Education, Trinity College Dublin, where he teaches maths teachers how to teach maths, on the H-Dip programme.
Brendan Guildea has taught maths, applied maths, and physics to both Leaving and Junior Cert students since 1973.
Brendan has corrected Maths papers for the Dept of Education and various Universities. He has written "The Maths Workout" a series of revision topics for Ordinary Level Leaving Cert.
Brendan teaches Maths in Trinity College as part of the TAP programme and to students in the DEIS schools.
Brendan is also involved with Exam Support as featured in Eircoms Study Hub and facilitates on line interactive Maths Classes.
He features regularly in the media leading discussions on maths teaching, exams and syllabus.
Together with George, Brendan co-founded the innovative and exciting Education Workshop. Brendan and George were the pioneers of the highly successful Leaving Cert and Junior Cert one day revision seminars held annually in universities and colleges all over Ireland in Maths, English, Geography, Chemistry, Biology, Accountancy, Business and Irish.
